Job DetailsJob Details:
Our firm is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Tax Accountant to join our team. This is a permanent position that offers the opportunity to work with a diverse client base, including high net worth individuals (HNWI). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in federal and state taxation, with a deep understanding of tax laws and regulations. As a Senior Tax Accountant, you will play a crucial role in tax planning, preparation and compliance. This position requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in the field. CPA or EA certification is preferred.
Responsibilities:
1. Prepare and review complex federal and state tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and trusts.
2. Provide tax planning and consulting to high net worth individuals and families.
3. Research and interpret tax laws to provide accurate advice to clients.
4. Identify and mitigate tax risks and liabilities.
5. Assist with federal, state, and local tax audits.
6. Ensure compliance with all tax regulations and keep abreast of current tax laws and updates.
7. Collaborate with team members to provide comprehensive tax solutions.
8. Assist in the development and implementation of tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities and optimize profitability.
9. Provide guidance and support to junior team members.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Advanced degree is a plus.
2. CPA or EA certification is highly preferred.
3. Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax accounting, with a focus on 1040 and 1065 tax returns.
4. Proficiency in federal and state tax laws and regulations.
5. Extensive experience in tax planning and preparation for high net worth individuals.
6. Strong knowledge of state and local tax requirements.
7. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
9. Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.
10. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
11. Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
