Essential Skills

  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in Tableau development and Business Intelligence.
  • Strong expertise in Tableau Desktop, Tableau Server/Cloud, dashboards, reports, calculated fields, parameters, LOD expressions, and data visualization.
  • Strong SQL skills, including:
    • Complex joins
    • CTEs
    • Subqueries
    • Stored procedures
    • Window functions
    • Query optimization
  • Experience with Tableau calculations, LOD expressions, parameters, sets, actions, filters, and advanced visualizations.
  • Experience with data modeling, data warehousing, ETL/ELT processes, and large datasets.
  • Experience with Snowflake, BigQuery, Oracle, SQL Server, or similar databases.
  • Strong knowledge of Tableau performance tuning and dashboard optimization.
  • Experience working with insurance/healthcare data, including:
    • Claims
    • Membership
    • Providers
    • Benefits
    • Premiums
    • Utilization
    • Financial data
  • Strong understanding of healthcare and insurance KPIs, including:
    • Claims cost
    • PMPM
    • Utilization
    • Membership
    • Provider performance
    • Medical Loss Ratio (MLR)
    • Quality metrics
  • Experience developing executive and operational dashboards for business stakeholders and leadership.
  • Experience with data validation, UAT support, dashboard optimization, and production issue resolution.
  • Experience with Tableau Server administration, including publishing, permissions, scheduling, and user access.
  • Good understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Experience working with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience supporting enterprise-scale insurance applications.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain Tableau dashboards, reports, and data visualizations.
  • Translate business requirements into effective Tableau solutions.
  • Work closely with business analysts, data engineers, product owners, and client stakeholders.
  • Develop executive and operational dashboards for business stakeholders and leadership.
  • Perform dashboard optimization and Tableau performance tuning.
  • Validate data and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production dashboard and data issues.
  • Work with data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, data warehouses, and large-volume datasets.
  • Develop complex SQL queries and optimize query performance.
  • Support Tableau Server/Cloud publishing, permissions, scheduling, and user access.
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and enterprise application development activities.

Preferred / Desirable Skills

  • Experience in the Insurance, Healthcare, or Telecommunications domain.
  • Experience with Snowflake, SQL Server, Oracle, AWS, Azure, or similar cloud/data platforms.
  • Knowledge of Power BI.
  • Knowledge of Python.
  • Experience with Tableau Prep.
  • Experience with Tableau REST API.
  • Knowledge of Looker.
