    Description

    Position Description:

    Provides production support for applications and infrastructure at Fidelity, using cloud, database and middle tier technologies to drive production stability, reliability, and resiliency. Promotes code into production using Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) tools -- Concourse, Jenkins, and Udeploy. Utilizes Cloudwatch or Datadog or Splunk for system monitoring, and supports batch scheduling and ETL processes, including troubleshooting Autosys jobs, Control-M, Informatica. Works with event-driven processes using Kafka. Applies DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles to support applications or batch processes hosted on Kubernetes clusters (EKS and AKS). Leverages Linux, Windows, Oracle databases, AWS Cloud, networking concepts, and ITSM methodologies to ensure reliable and efficient operations. 

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Provides production support for enterprise applications and infrastructure.
    • Develops software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation.
    • Monitors, assesses, and mitigates the business impact of production incidents and deploys code changes in production to enable new features or functionalities.
    • Analyzes and fixes application and batch issues by working in partnership with other technology teams to support the production and non-production environments.
    • Assists in crisis management for major system outages or issues with major impact to the business.
    • Consults with application development groups on application problems, new releases, new applications, systems, and infrastructure.
    • Improves team operations, automates manual processes, and uses collaborative approaches to solve problems.
    • Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope.
    • Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a project.
    • Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives.
    • Assists in the configuration, maintenance, and monitoring of systems infrastructure.
    • Supports routine system updates and troubleshooting.
    • Participates in system testing and documentation.

    Education and Experience:

    Bachelor’s degree in Applied Computer Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Systems Engineer (or closely related occupation) providing production support services (incident management, request management, deployments, and problem management) for applications, infrastructure, and batch cycles on the Cloud within a financial services or banking domain.

    Or, alternatively, Master’s degree in Applied Computer Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Systems Engineer (or closely related occupation) providing production support services (incident management, request management, deployments, and problem management) for applications, infrastructure, and batch cycles on the Cloud within a financial services or banking domain.

    Skills and Knowledge:

    Candidate must also possess:

    • Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) providing production support for large scale enterprise applications and infrastructure on AWS Cloud by performing analysis of logs, traces, metrics and operational dashboards, using Cloudwatch, Datadog, or Splunk within a financial services, banking, or insurance domain; and identifying and mitigating issues within an application, infrastructure, and batch cycles hosted on AWS as per Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) standards for incident management, problem management and change management, using ServiceNow.  
    • DE supporting and administrating enterprise scale batch cycles, event driven data movements, data APIs, Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes, and non-ETL batch processes in an AWS Cloud infrastructure, using Autosys, KAFKA, Snow Flake, Oracle SQL, and Informatica to triage and resolve failures and issues within a defined SLA; and taking steps to communicate estimated resolution times and business impacts. 
    • DE supporting infrastructure upgrades, re-hydrations, certificate renewals, application deployment, infrastructure deployment, and execution of smoke tests in production within an AWS Linux and Windows based Cloud environment; and performing operational tasks to scale services hosted on EC2 and EKS environments, using AWS console, Jenkins, Autosys, Venafi, Datadog, or Splunk. 
    • DE implementing and tuning monitors, alerts, synthetic tests and operational dashboards to monitor services, infrastructure, API calls, and URLs hosted in an AWS cloud environment, using Datadog, Splunk, or App Dynamics.

    Fidelity’s Onsite Working Model
    Fidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout across regions and roles. Currently, some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues.
