Overview
This position will support a mission-focused customer throughout the full life-cycle development, integration, operation, and sustainment of a Radio Frequency Processing System.
The Senior Systems Engineer will support RF system architecture, dataflow management, system design, production monitoring, technical documentation, and stakeholder coordination. The ideal candidate will have experience with RF systems, analog-to-digital conversion processes, Apache NiFi, network and dataflow diagrams, system security documentation, and Agile collaboration tools.
This role is based in Fort Meade, Maryland.

What will you do?
Do you have what it takes?
US Citizen with TS/SCI with Poly required
Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related technical discipline from an accredited college or university.
Five years of additional systems engineering experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree.
A minimum of 14 of systems engineering experience supporting programs or contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
Experience supporting Radio Frequency systems.
Understanding of analog-to-digital dataflows and conversion processes.
Experience accessing, monitoring, or troubleshooting production Apache NiFi environments.
Experience identifying and resolving dataflow backlogs, processing errors, and data-formatting issues.
Experience preparing or coordinating Data Management Requests and Data Change Requests.
Experience developing preliminary system designs and communicating technical concepts to stakeholders.
Experience creating and updating:
System engineering drawings
RF antenna drawings
Network diagrams
Dataflow diagrams
Experience documenting network connections and technical interfaces required for system functionality.
Experience coordinating data samples for testing, analysis, system integration, or troubleshooting.
Experience requesting that IP addresses or system components be incorporated into System Security Plans.
Experience using Jira and Confluence for engineering documentation, task management, issue tracking, and team communication.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, technical writing, and verbal communication skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with Government customers and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Certification Requirement
VTG's estimated starting pay range is $160K - $190K annually, which is a general guideline for the geographic location. When extending an offer, VTG also considers work experience, education, skill level, market considerations and may possibly include contractual requirements which may cause an offer to fall outside of this range.
