Overview
Microsoft's Quantum organization is building fault‑tolerant quantum computing systems at the intersection of physics, hardware, software, and large‑scale systems integration. To accelerate our hardware development and operational excellence, we are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer- Bill of Materials & Configuration Control to support configuration control, Bill of Materials (BOM) management, lab operations, and material readiness across Quantum hardware programs.
In this role, you will own the day-to-day execution of Bill of Materials (BOM) management and configuration control for complex quantum hardware systems. You will partner with engineering, systems integration, supply chain, fabrication, and lab teams to translate design intent into accurate, traceable, and build-ready product data across PLM and ERP systems. You will establish and maintain configuration baselines, support Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), Engineering Change Requests (ECRs), Parts Change Notices (PCNs), and Configuration Control Board (CCB) activities, and ensure documentation quality, material readiness, and data integrity from prototype development through production-intent builds. Your work will help enable New Product Introduction (NPI), resolve configuration discrepancies, and maintain audit-ready records in a fast-moving research and development environment.
At Microsoft Quantum, we aim to empower science and scientists to solve the world's biggest problems by realizing advanced computing platforms at the intersection of high-performance computing, artificial intelligence, and quantum information technology. Microsoft Quantum will change the world of computing and help solve some of humankind's currently unsolvable problems.
