Location: 1 Dixon Square, Chestertown, MD 21620

Work Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday

Pay Range: $80,000 - $120,000/annually

The Dixon Group is looking for a Senior Systems Administrator to join our team in Chestertown, MD! In this role, you will play a key role in supporting and enhancing the organizations technology environment, including VMware, Microsoft 365, Azure, storage, networking, and cybersecurity systems. What Youll Do:

  • Maintain and support the organizations enterprise infrastructure, ensuring systems remain secure, reliable, and available for business operations.
  • Administer and support virtual server environments using VMware technologies, including vSphere, vCenter, and ESXi.
  • Manage Microsoft server technologies and core services such as Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and Microsoft 365.
  • Manage enterprise backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions, including Veeam and cloud-based retention systems.
  • Support Azure cloud services and assist with the ongoing optimization of cloud-based resources and applications.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and serve as a Tier III escalation resource for complex technical problems.
  • Perform system maintenance activities including patching software upgrades, backup administration, and recovery testing.
  • Manage and support storage systems, virtualization platforms, Citrix environments, and related infrastructure technologies.
  • Support network infrastructure including switches, VLANs, VPN connections, and firewall technologies.
  • Help maintain cybersecurity controls through system hardening, patch management, security monitoring, and compliance initiatives.

What Were Looking For:

  • Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Preferred certifications include VMWare, O365/Azure Professional, Microsoft Server, HP Switch, Firewall, and Citrix.
  • 7-10 years of experience administering VMware environments, including vSphere, vCenter, and ESXi
  • 3-5 years of experience with storage platforms, networking concepts, VPNs, firewalls, and cybersecurity principles.
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Server operating systems and networking protocols
  • Strong knowledge of backup and recovery solutions, preferable Veeam, and disaster recovery best practices.
  • Experience troubleshooting infrastructure, server, and application issues in a production environment.
  • Strong ability to work independently and collaboratively to address incidents, problems, provide access management, and contribute to infrastructure enhancement projects.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
