We are one of the largest employee‑owned engineering, management, and development firms, with a focus on sustainability and innovation across Buildings, Energy, Transportation, and Water.Based in our Bay Area office, the Senior Engineer will provide a lead technical role in developing transportation projects such as bridges, retaining walls, underground structures, transit stations, and other civil structures.Responsibilities Develop conceptual, preliminary, and detailed final designs using industry‑standard analysis and design software.Actively participate in project, client, and team meetings.Assist and mentor junior staff.Review, prepare, and modify designs.Analyze and prepare studies, reports, specifications, quantities, and estimates.Coordinate work with technicians and design professionals from other disciplines.Attend on‑site meetings.Gain exposure to project, commercial, and client management.Implement a digital‑by‑default approach in deliverables.Support our Purpose in everything you do.Candidate Specification A bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering from an ABET‑accredited university.Minimum 10 years of structural engineering experience.Experience with AASHTO, Caltrans, AREMA, ASCE, and CBC design codes and standards.Experience with California seismic analysis and design.Proficiency in designing cast‑in‑place reinforced concrete, precast/pre‑stressed concrete, post‑tensioned concrete, and structural steel foundations.Methodical problem‑solving approach to undertake tasks efficiently and independently.Excellent verbal communication skills to liaise confidently with clients and team members.Excellent technical written communication and attention to detail, with the ability to produce accurate drawings and reports.Excellent teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues.California Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain one within one year.Positive attitude, strong commitment to technical excellence, high ethical standards, and eagerness to learn and perform a variety of tasks.Benefits and Salary Comprehensive benefits package: 401(k), medical, dental, vision insurance, short‑term/long‑term disability, paid holidays, PTO, parental leave, and company‑paid life insurance.Salary ranges by location: San Jose $160,000–$195,000; San Diego $146,000–$178,000; Los Angeles $148,000–$181,000.Equal Opportunity Employment.
