HDR is a leading power delivery consultancy that focuses on designing reliable, resilient, and sustainable power infrastructure. We are looking for a Senior Civil/Structural Engineer to join our nationally ranked Power Delivery team.ResponsibilitiesLead, oversee, review, and/or execute structural engineering tasks for transmission line and substation projects, including folded plate tubular steel, lattice, and standard shapes.Perform detailed design, calculations, and detailing for fabrication or development of loading and concept drawings for steel manufacturing.Lead foundation design for transmission line and substation structures using industry-standard software, covering drilled piers, spread footings, grillage, driven piles, and other types.Support, lead, or review transmission line design tasks, including PLS‑CADD modeling, structure spotting and design, and associated bills of materials.Support physical substation layout designs, plans, elevations/sections, details, and bills of materials.Prepare equipment specifications for procurement and/or factory acceptance testing.Assign project tasks and provide technical guidance to project team members.Coordinate and perform quality checks and reviews for deliverables per HDR QMS requirements and processes.Perform quality checks or reviews of projects from other teams as needed.Collaborate with transmission line civil/structural engineers to cross‑train and share resources.Work independently and may direct, mentor, train, and/or supervise Project Engineers, EITs, or CADD/Designers.Lead multiple projects concurrently, utilizing teams in different locations.Work with senior engineers and technical leaders to identify and develop specific technical expertise and attend training and seminars focused on complex concepts related to the discipline.Assist with developing technical papers and/or presentations that showcase HDR's technical capabilities at industry conferences or other events.Participate in project reviews as needed.Some travel may be required.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.A minimum of 10 years' structural engineering experience related to building design.Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered (e.g., PE or P.Eng).Proficiency with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, RAM, ETABS, SAFE, or similar analytical software.Experience in design calculations and layouts.Ability to design and detail in steel, concrete, masonry, and wood.Understanding of gravity analysis and lateral analysis.Previous experience with an architectural/engineering consulting firm.Commitment to participating actively in an employee‑owned culture.Preferred QualificationsMaster's degree in Structural Engineering.Experience using industry‑standard design software, including PLS‑Tower and Mathcad Prime.Previous consulting firm experience.Familiarity with the latest AISC, ASCE, ANSI, and other industry standards.Experience using industry-standard design software such as L‑Pile and MFAD.Primary Location: United States • Florida • OrlandoOther Locations: United States • Florida • West Palm Beach, Jacksonville, TampaSchedule: Full‑timeEmployee Status: Regular#J-18808-Ljbffr
