In the role of Senior Structural Engineer, HDR seeks a technical expert with recognized authority in structural engineering for building projects. You will solve complex problems, lead design activities, and manage medium to large teams of professionals and technicians.ResponsibilitiesServe as a technical expert with recognized authority in structural engineering as it relates to projects; resolve problems of greater scope and complexity.Possess strong analytical skills including dynamic analysis, non-linear analysis, and deep foundation design.Use software such as ETABS, SAFE, Perform 3D, RAM Structural System, and Ensoft.Plan and develop projects or design activities.Plan, organize and supervise work of medium to large staff of professionals and technicians.Serve as Project Manager on larger projects, though project management is not sole focus of position.Perform other duties as needed.Preferred QualificationsMaster's degree in Architectural Engineering, Structural emphasis.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.Minimum of 10 years structural engineering experience as it relates to building design.Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered (e.g., Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng)).Proficiency with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, RAM, ETABS, SAFE or similar analytical software.Experience in design calculations and layouts.Ability to design and detail steel, concrete, masonry, and wood structures.Understanding of gravity analysis and lateral analysis.Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm.Attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.Compensation & LocationPay range: $133,000 - $190,000 (based on skills, experience, education and geographic location).
