Job Description
The Senior Structural Engineer interprets design criteria, performs structural analysis, and develops complete permit and construction drawings and specifications for a variety of building and infrastructure projects. This role supports predominantly industrial and manufacturing facilities, with additional work in bridge, commercial, and specialty structures. You will coordinate closely with construction management, field personnel, suppliers, vendors, and other design disciplines, while managing multiple projects simultaneously and ensuring timely, high-quality deliverables. The position requires someone who can work both collaboratively within a team and autonomously, thriving in a fast-paced environment that demands responsiveness, resourcefulness, and the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities. As the Senior member of the structural group, you will play a key role in guiding standards, mentoring junior staff, and helping shape the future growth of the structural team.

Work Environment
The role is based in a design-build environment that primarily supports industrial and manufacturing projects, with additional bridge and commercial work. The office operates on a first-shift schedule and features an open, cubicle-style layout where structural engineers collaborate closely with architectural, civil, and MEP team members. The team is small and tight-knit, with approximately eight professionals across architecture, engineering, and related disciplines, fostering close collaboration and direct communication. A hybrid work schedule is available, with an expectation to be in the office on Tuesdays for staff meetings and flexibility for remote or in-office work on other days, ideally around two days in the office per week. The organization is also open to a fully remote arrangement, particularly for candidates located in the Midwest to maintain design continuity with regional weather and other design considerations, with occasional office visits for key meetings or major project kick-offs by mutual agreement. Structural engineers use Revit and structural analysis software such as RISA-3D, RAM, and STAAD, and work closely with construction management and field teams on means-and-methods drawings and site coordination. The culture emphasizes individual value, support, and the ability to forge your own career path, including the opportunity to help run and grow the structural team. Benefits include an employee stock ownership plan with a history of strong growth, yearly stock allocations based on company performance, a 401(k) with employer matching and full vesting after one year, health, dental, and vision coverage, and generous paid time off starting at 16 days in the first year.
