This role is targeted at experienced structural engineers ready to step into a senior technical and/or emerging leadership position. The firm is expanding its Nashville presence and is seeking engineers who can lead complex building design projects while also mentoring junior staff and contributing to client-facing delivery. The position offers a clear path either as a technical specialist or into formal management as senior leadership transitions over time.
Lead structural design for building projects across manufacturing, life sciences, data centers, and adaptive reuse/renovation work
Manage projects from early feasibility through construction administration
Serve as a technical lead and mentor for junior and mid-level engineers
Coordinate directly with architects, clients, and internal project teams
Perform and review structural calculations and design documentation
Support multi-project workload in a collaborative, flat organizational structure
Contribute to quality assurance and technical excellence across deliverables
Participate in project planning, scheduling, and client engagement activities
Active Professional Engineer (PE) or Structural Engineer (SE) license required
8+ years of structural engineering experience in building design (7+ years considered for exceptional candidates)
Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred)
Proficiency with structural engineering software (e.g., RAM, RISA, ETABS, Tekla)
Revit experience strongly preferred
Demonstrated ability to lead complex structural design projects
Strong mentoring and team leadership capability
Ability to manage projects through full lifecycle delivery
Strong communication skills for client and stakeholder interaction
Desire for either technical specialization or progression into management track
