Description

Job Title: Senior Stress Analyst

Location: Remote

Pay Rate: $56-$95/hr

Employment Type: 12 month contract to hire

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

We are seeking a Senior Stress Analyst for an advanced nuclear reactor company which would be a great opportunity for someone with experience in structural and stress analysis of reactor components looking to further their career in nuclear engineering.

  • Perform stress and structural analysis of reactor components and systems using finite element methods to verify compliance with applicable codes and standards (ASME, ASCE, AISC)
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary engineering teams to develop and optimize advanced nuclear reactor designs
  • Establish and maintain comprehensive documentation of analysis results and design solutions
  • Conduct peer reviews and quality assurance validation per engineering quality assurance standards

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS/MS/PhD in Mechanical, Aerospace, Nuclear, or Civil Engineering from an accredited institution; minimum 8 years (BS), 5 years (MS), or 3 years (PhD) of relevant experience
  • Expert-level proficiency with ANSYS and SolidWorks; strong understanding of solid mechanics, fracture mechanics, and fatigue analysis
  • Working experience with pressure equipment design codes (ASME BPVC Section III/VIII) and quality assurance standards (NQA-1, ISO 9000)
