Position Overview
The Contracting Associate supports Market Access and Account Management by providing expertise in state Medicaid contracting. This role is responsible for managing the lifecycle of state Medicaid contracts, supporting pricing models, and ensuring accurate execution of contract terms and pricing obligations in alignment with business strategy and negotiated legal terms.
The Contracting Associate will also support state Medicaid bid solicitations, financial evaluations, contract performance reporting, and contract negotiations. This position serves as a subject matter expert in state Medicaid contracting and works closely with cross-functional teams to ensure contract terms accurately reflect business and legal intent.

Key Responsibilities
State Medicaid Contracting
  • Support the negotiation, implementation, and ongoing management of state Medicaid contracts.
  • Manage the lifecycle of state Medicaid agreements, including supplemental rebate agreements.
  • Serve as a primary contracting liaison for state Medicaid accounts.
  • Interpret complex contract language and assess its impact on government pricing metrics, including Best Price, Unit Rebate Amount (URA), Average Manufacturer Price (AMP), and related obligations.
  • Support the development, review, and redlining of state Medicaid agreements in response to evolving policies and requirements.
  • Support state Medicaid bid solicitations and the tactical execution of contracting and negotiation strategies.
Financial Impact Analysis
  • Partner with Account Management to support financial analysis related to state Medicaid contracts.
  • Evaluate pricing, rebates, and Gross-to-Net (GTN) implications of contract terms.
  • Investigate discrepancies between expected and actual contract performance outcomes.
  • Support Medicaid segment-level financial impact analysis.
Compliance, Audit & Controls
  • Partner with Legal, Compliance, Finance, and Government Pricing teams to ensure contracts are executed in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure contract terms, pricing, and reporting obligations are accurately implemented.
  • Follow established company policies and approval processes related to contract execution.
  • Support audit and compliance activities related to state Medicaid contracting and reporting.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Facilitate collaboration between Market Access and key business functions, including:
    • Legal
    • Finance
    • Operations
    • Government Pricing
    • Account Management
  • Communicate complex contractual and financial considerations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Work effectively in a highly regulated, dynamic environment with complex cross-functional dependencies.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
  • MBA preferred/required based on business need.
  • 3+ years of experience in state Medicaid contracting.
  • Direct experience supporting account management and/or contracting activities with state Medicaid programs.
  • Experience developing, reviewing, redlining, and/or negotiating contracts.
  • Strong understanding of how contract terms impact pricing, rebates, Gross-to-Net (GTN), and government reporting.
  • Experience with Medicaid contract execution and state Medicaid bid solicitations.
  • Ability to interpret complex regulatory and contractual language.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with GTN modeling and government pricing analytics.
  • Experience with Medicaid reporting and pricing operations.
  • Strong data literacy and the ability to validate datasets, logic flows, and business assumptions.
  • Experience working in a highly regulated environment with complex cross-functional dependencies.
