Job Description:
As a Senior Staff Systems Design Engineer specializing in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and agentic AI platform offerings, your role is pivotal in designing, implementing, and optimizing cloud-based systems that leverage the capabilities of the cloud to meet the organization's needs. We believe the best way to learn is teaching others so mentorship, communication, and knowledge sharing is a core part of this position.
Your duties typically include:
1. Architecting Solutions: You will be responsible for designing robust and scalable architectures on GCP to support the organization's applications and services. This involves understanding business requirements; complex, multi-cloud and facility networking and interconnects; evaluating cloud services across GCP, Azure, and AWS; and designing solutions that meet performance, reliability, and cost requirements.
2. Artifical Intelligence Platforms: You will lead efforts to provide agentic AI platform services to ensure our client IT's ability to scale and meet evolving automation needs. Securing, recommending, and providing the underlying architectures and evolving best practices will give you an opportunity to have a long lasting impact using emerging technology.
3. Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Implementing Infrastructure as Code practices using tools like Terraform or Google Cloud Deployment Manager to automate the provisioning and management of resources across our cloud platforms.
4. Performance and Cost Optimization: Continuously monitoring and optimizing the performance of cloud systems to ensure optimal resource utilization, scalability, and reliability. This includes identifying bottlenecks and wasted resources, tuning configurations, and implementing best practices to improve system performance in a financially responsible manner.
5. Security and Compliance: Implementing security best practices and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR) in cloud environments. This involves configuring identity and access management, network security, encryption, and auditing/logging solutions to protect data and resources.
6. Collaboration and Documentation: Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including developers, operations, and security teams, to ensure alignment on architecture decisions and implementation strategies. Documenting design decisions, configurations, and procedures to facilitate knowledge sharing and future troubleshooting.
7. Stay Updated: Keeping abreast of the latest developments and best practices in cloud computing, especially related to GCP. This involves attending training sessions, participating in forums, and obtaining relevant certifications to enhance expertise in GCP services and technologies.
Overall, as a Senior Staff Systems Design Engineer who specializes in GCP and agentic AI platforms, your role is crucial in designing and maintaining reliable, scalable, and secure cloud-based systems that enable the organization to leverage the full potential of our cloud platforms.
