About the Role

We are seeking a hands-on Senior Component Engineer to own semiconductor component strategy and execution across our next-generation AI infrastructure platforms (AI Ethernet switches). This role will drive component selection, lifecycle management, supplier engagement, and risk mitigation across critical silicon.

Responsibilities

  • Own AVL strategy and component selection for semiconductor categories:
  • CPUs / SoCs
  • SSDs / Storage controllers
  • FPGAs / CPLDs
  • Memory (DDR, Flash)
  • Power ICs (PMICs, regulators)
  • Clocking & timing devices
  • Interface ICs / PHYs / retimers / controllers
  • Evaluate components for performance, reliability, lifecycle, and supply risk
  • Drive second source strategy and qualification plans
  • Lead technical review of datasheets, errata, PCNs, and EOL notices
  • Partner closely with Engineering on component selection and design tradeoffs
  • Work with Supply Chain to mitigate shortages, LT risks, and allocation
  • Own component qualification (FIT rates, derating, stress conditions)
  • Manage vendor relationships and support escalations (FAE engagement, debug)
  • Maintain and govern AVL/BOM integrity in Arena PLM
  • Support NPI builds, proto readiness, and production ramp

Qualifications

  • 10+ years in Component Engineering (semiconductor focus)
  • Strong understanding of high-speed systems and data center hardware
  • Deep experience with one or more categories: CPU/SoC, memory, power, or high-speed interfaces
  • Experience reviewing datasheets, schematics, and electrical requirements
  • Familiarity with signal integrity / power integrity considerations (nice to have)
  • Experience with lifecycle management (PCN/EOL handling)
  • Strong supplier-facing experience (FAEs, vendors, distributors)
  • Experience in startup or fast-paced environments preferred

What We're Looking For

  • Hands-on, detail-oriented, and execution-driven
  • Comfortable operating with ambiguity and speed
  • Strong ownership mindset - not just advisory, but driving decisions
  • Ability to balance technical depth with supply chain realities
