    Description

    Reporting to the Director of Accounting, the Senior Staff Accountant role is responsible for activities and analyses supporting the preparation of month-end and year-end financial statements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.   

    On-Site Position

    EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
    • 3-5 years of experience in accounting, healthcare industry preferred.
    • Strong month-end close and account reconciliation skills.
    • Experience reviewing staff work and managing multiple divisions simultaneously.
    • Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP).
    • Experience with Accounting software, Blackbaud Financial Edge preferred.
    • Customer service mindset and ability to work in a collaborative team culture.

    ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Participate in the preparation and review of monthly financial statements including accruals, budget analysis and applicable reports ensuring accuracy, timeliness and alignment with GAAP/FASB standards.
    • Prepare and review account reconciliations and recommend adjusting entries as needed.
    • Assist in developing and implementing new analysis tools and systems to improve efficiency and accuracy of financial reporting.
    • Analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.
    • Support audit and tax filing preparation including schedules and supporting documentation.
    • Assist with development and preparation of annual budget
    • Provide guidance to junior staff, reviewing work and ensuring quality standards are met.
    • Collaborate with other departments to support financial research and decision-making.
    • Perform ad hoc reporting and special projects as assigned.
