    Description

Amazon is seeking a Senior Business Development Manager to build and lead strategic partnerships for Prime Video Sports.

Prime Video Sports is creating innovative experiences on top of live sports, and these experiences involve deep collaboration with partners: leagues and rights holders, operators and platforms, data and technology vendors, and venue owners. You will originate and negotiate those partnerships and carry them through to a launched customer experience. Many of these are first-of-kind with no playbook and little precedent.

You will shape strategy, working alongside Product and Tech to identify where partnerships can unlock something new, including in emerging areas such as AI and interactivity. This role is key to how the business prioritizes features and integrations, and you will be the person who drives these forward.

Recent initiatives give a sense of the surface area, including interactive integrations with sportsbook and fantasy partners across NBA and NFL properties, and in-venue camera technology deployment.

    Key job responsibilities

    • Originate, structure and negotiate first-of-their-kind partnerships where no template, precedent or comparable agreement exists, and define the commercial model from scratch.
    • Lead complex multi-party negotiations across leagues and rights holders, commercial partners, data and technology vendors, and venue owners.
    • Own initiatives end to end, from strategy and partner selection through negotiation, launch and ongoing management, rather than handing off at signature.
    • Shape the opportunity set with Product and Tech, including emerging technology, and decide what to pursue, what to defer and what to decline.
    • Quarterback across cross functional teams and organizations. Product, Engineering, Legal, Finance, Ads, Marketing, PR and Production all touch these launches, across multiple Amazon businesses.
    • Represent Amazon as the senior commercial point of contact with external partners and build durable relationships.
    • Communicate to senior leadership, including recurring written updates and inputs to annual and longer-range planning.

    About the team

Sports Partnerships sits at the center of Prime Video"s live sports business, working directly with leagues, teams, operators and technology providers to build experiences that have not been built before. You will own initiatives end to end, with real visibility into how the work reaches customers, alongside some of the largest partners in sport.

    About Company

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

    It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

    Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
