Senior Specialist, Lab IT & Systems Support - Onsite

Aptask Global Workforce (AGW) is seeking a Senior Specialist, Lab IT & Systems Support for an Onsite position with a Global Biotechnology Company located in Foster City, CA. This is an 18+ month contract opportunity.

This role serves as the primary operational liaison between Technical Development laboratories and Information Technology partners. The Senior Specialist is responsible for supporting laboratory computing environments, instrument-connected systems, laboratory software deployment, infrastructure coordination, and end-user support activities that enable scientific operations. The position partners closely with various internal teams and external vendors to ensure laboratory technology remains compliant, secure, and operational.

Responsibilities:

• Manage lifecycle activities for laboratory computers and instrument-connected workstations
• Coordinate new computer deployments, replacements, upgrades, and retirement activities
• Maintain CMDB records and laboratory technology inventories
• Coordinate operating system, security patching, and compliance activities
• Support laboratory instrument software, vendor applications, and connectivity requirements
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and technology issues impacting laboratory operations
• Coordinate network port activations and infrastructure requests for instruments and laboratory equipment
• Serve as the primary point of contact for laboratory technology support requests
• Partner with IT, LIS, Digital & Data, Facilities, Quality, and instrument vendors to resolve issues and deliver solutions
• Support laboratory expansions, relocations, renovations, and startup activities
• Lead or support laboratory technology projects and continuous improvement initiatives
• Develop and maintain operational documentation, standards, and support procedures

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or Computer Science
• Minimum 5 years of experience supporting laboratory computing environments, laboratory systems, or scientific instrumentation
• Experience supporting research, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or regulated laboratory environments
• Experience coordinating with instrument vendors and enterprise IT organizations
• Strong troubleshooting, customer service, and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and stakeholder management experience

Pay range: up to $77.37 per hour
