Senior Specialist, Integration & Test Engineer (On-site)

Our client is seeking a Senior Specialist, Integration & Test Engineer for a permanent-placement opportunity in Palm Bay, Florida.

This position requires someone who can set up, configure, test, troubleshoot, and integrate a complex communications system—and then teach end users how to operate it effectively in real-world environments. The selected candidate will work with evolving hardware and software technologies while ensuring the training system remains operational and mission-ready.

A significant part of this position involves leading classroom and hands-on training. The selected candidate must be able to explain complex technical concepts clearly, adapt instruction to different audiences and skill levels, and ensure participants leave prepared to use the system confidently.

This individual will also collaborate with engineering and design teams to remain current on system updates, incorporate feedback into training materials, troubleshoot technical issues, and support ongoing system operations.

Military and government experience is highly relevant to this position, particularly experience training personnel on new equipment, maintaining operational readiness, following established procedures, and coordinating with multiple units, contractors, and stakeholders.

Essential Functions

• Set up, configure, and document hardware and software systems for testing.
• Load custom and commercial software onto multiple platforms.
• Develop and lead structured classroom and hands-on training sessions.
• Explain complex technical information in clear, practical terms.
• Build, configure, troubleshoot, and integrate new and existing hardware packages.
• Support system upgrades, application deployments, and capability enhancements.
• Manage the hardware configuration process and develop in-depth knowledge of the system.
• Train end users to operate the system effectively and confidently.
• Support daily training-system operations and resolve technical issues.
• Manage training sessions from preparation through completion.
• Collaborate with engineering and design teams regarding system changes and training updates.
• Update training materials based on system changes and participant feedback.
• Travel occasionally to support training and system integration at other locations.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and at least six years of relevant experience; graduate degree and at least four years of relevant experience; or at least ten years of relevant experience without a degree.
• Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
• Experience configuring, integrating, testing, or troubleshooting hardware and software systems.
• Experience delivering technical instruction or hands-on training.

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong understanding of engineering principles, particularly verification and validation processes.
• U.S. military training certification.
• Train-the-trainer certification.
• Experience working directly with customers and leadership teams.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned systems and training activities.
• Ability to learn complex systems through self-study, hands-on experience, and collaboration with technical teams.
• Experience leading small, diverse teams in fast-paced environments.
• Ability to explain complex technical topics to engineers, program managers, end users, and customer leadership.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Experience developing and maintaining Excel spreadsheets and related data.
