    What you'll need to succeed as a Senior Specialist, AR at XPO

    Minimum qualifications:

    • 2 years of experience in freight bill audit, accounts receivable, billing, or payables, preferably within the LTL transportation industry
    • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to review and interpret customer pricing contracts and billing documentation
    • Clear and professional verbal and written communication skills
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including advanced Excel capabilities
    • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

    Preferred qualifications:

    • Bachelors degree in Business, Logistics, Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent work or military experience
    • 2-4 years of experience in freight bill audit, billing corrections, accounts receivable, or transportation finance
    • Experience identifying root causes of billing disputes and implementing process improvements
    • Knowledge of LTL transportation pricing, invoicing, and contractual billing practices
    • Experience creating SOPs, training materials, or serving as a subject matter expert on business processes and systems
    • Experience supporting testing initiatives, system implementations, or continuous improvement projects

    What you'll do on a typical day:

    • Review customer pricing agreements and perform detailed audits of LTL invoices to validate billing accuracy and contractual compliance
    • Research, analyze, and process invoice correction requests using sound judgment and attention to detail
    • Identify the root cause of billing disputes and collaborate with internal partners to resolve discrepancies
    • Recommend and implement process improvements that reduce billing errors, corrections, and operational inefficiencies
    • Serve as a subject matter expert for department projects, user acceptance testing, and system enhancements
    • Create and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), quick-reference guides, and other process documentation
    • Ensure compliance with company controls, SOX requirements, and applicable billing standards
    • Support and mentor team members by sharing knowledge and best practices

    Senior Specialists are required to:

    • Demonstrate strong analytical and data interpretation skills
    • Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail when handling billing corrections and audits
    • Effectively prioritize workload and meet established deadlines
    • Build collaborative relationships with customers, operations teams, and business partners
    • Learn and maintain proficiency in company systems and software applications
    • Work with minimal supervision while demonstrating initiative and accountability
    • Sit for extended periods and work primarily at a computer workstation
