Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic sourcing strategies supporting major data center construction and infrastructure initiatives.
  • Source and negotiate materials, equipment, construction-related services, professional services, consulting engagements, and specialty contractor services.
  • Lead RFx processes, supplier evaluations, competitive bidding, negotiations, supplier selection, and contract execution.
  • Negotiate and manage Master Service Agreements (MSAs), service agreements, statements of work (SOWs), and other commercial contracts.
  • Partner with Legal and business stakeholders to develop, negotiate, and execute agreements in accordance with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and risk standards.
  • Develop multi-year sourcing strategies that leverage enterprise buying power across multiple data center projects and campuses.
  • Build and maintain strategic supplier relationships and monitor supplier capacity, performance, quality, delivery, and commercial commitments.
  • Manage long-lead materials and equipment against construction schedules and critical project milestones.
  • Identify supply-chain constraints and develop mitigation strategies, including alternate sourcing, supplier capacity planning, demand modeling, inventory, and warehousing solutions.
  • Partner with construction, engineering, facilities, technology, project management, finance, legal, and other stakeholders to align procurement activities with project requirements.
  • Analyze market conditions, supplier landscapes, spending patterns, and emerging risks to identify sourcing opportunities and support strategic decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain procurement KPIs, reports, dashboards, and analytical tools to measure supplier and sourcing performance.
  • Manage multiple strategic sourcing initiatives while balancing ongoing operational and business-as-usual responsibilities.
  • Utilize technology, data, and AI-enabled tools to improve market intelligence, supplier discovery, sourcing analysis, and procurement execution.
  • Maintain accurate sourcing, contract, and procurement information within applicable ERP and procurement systems.
  • Take a hands-on approach to resolving procurement issues, tracking open actions, coordinating stakeholders, and driving activities through completion.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or category management, including significant experience supporting design and construction activities; or 8+ years with an MBA or advanced degree.
  • Demonstrated experience with construction sourcing/procurement supporting data centers or similarly complex infrastructure projects.
  • Experience negotiating and managing contracts, MSAs, service agreements, SOWs, and related commercial agreements.
  • Strong experience leading RFx processes, supplier negotiations, supplier evaluations, and contract execution.
  • Understanding of the relationship between sourcing/procurement, construction schedules, project milestones, and infrastructure delivery.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a complex, matrixed environment.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with Legal, Engineering, Construction, Technology, Finance, Facilities, and other cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate is more than a traditional procurement professional. We are seeking someone who understands how strategic sourcing directly impacts the delivery of complex data center construction projects.

You should be comfortable discussing construction schedules, long-lead equipment, supplier capacity, commercial risk, contract structures, and sourcing strategy with senior stakeholders.

Experience negotiating MSAs and service agreements is important, as is the ability to work closely with Legal and business partners to structure agreements that appropriately address commercial, operational, and risk considerations.

Experience within financial services is highly desirable because the infrastructure supporting these environments has unique requirements around resiliency, availability, security, redundancy, technology integration, and business continuity.

The successful candidate will be expected to hit the ground running, operate with a high degree of autonomy, and serve as a trusted sourcing advisor to the business.
