Senior Solutions Engineer

IDR is seeking a Senior Solutions Engineer to join one of our top clients for a remote opportunity. In this role, you’ll act as a senior technical expert supporting customer-facing presales efforts—leading discovery, translating requirements, and designing scalable network, cloud, and managed services solutions. You’ll partner closely with sales and delivery teams to document solution designs and ensure a smooth handoff through implementation.

Position Overview for the Senior Solutions Engineer:

• Lead technical discovery with prospects/customers to understand business goals, current-state environments, constraints, and success criteria
• Design end-to-end solutions across networking, cloud, and managed services (e.g., SD-WAN, DIA, Wi-Fi, VoIP/SIP, multi-site architectures)
• Produce implementation-ready documentation including solution specs, topology diagrams, and order/requirements details
• Deliver technical presentations, product demos, and consultative guidance to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Collaborate cross-functionally (Sales, Engineering, Operations/Service Delivery) to support the full presales-to-delivery lifecycle

Requirements for the Senior Solutions Engineer:

• 5+ years of progressive experience in solutions engineering, network engineering, cloud engineering, or a closely related technical field
• Hands-on presales experience including discovery, requirements gathering, solution design, customer presentations, and implementation handoff
• Strong networking fundamentals and design experience (TCP/IP, routing/switching, Ethernet, Wi-Fi; protocols such as BGP/OSPF/EIGRP)
• Experience designing solutions for commercial/enterprise customers, including multi-site environments and managed services offerings
• Ability to create clear technical documentation (diagrams, specifications) and communicate complex concepts to varied audiences
