Do you like helping customers implement innovative cloud computing solutions and solve technical problems? Would you like to do this using the latest cloud computing technologies, including Generative AI, machine learning, and modern data architectures? Do you have a knack for helping groups understand application architectures and integration approaches, and the consultative and leadership skills to launch a project on a trajectory to success?

Are you familiar with security best practices for applications, servers, and networks? Do you want to be part of the business development team helping to establish Amazon Web Services (AWS) as a leading technology platform? Would you like to be part of a sales group, but have your opinion valued as a technical resource as part of planning and strategies?

Amazon Web Services is looking for a highly motivated Solutions Architect to help accelerate our growing business as part of the World Wide Public Sector practice. As a Solutions Architect within AWS, you will have the opportunity to help shape and deliver on a strategy to build broad use of Amazon"s utility computing web services (e.g., AWS EC2, AWS S3, AWS RDS, AWS Bedrock, and AWS CloudFront) directly with customers and our ecosystem of system integrators and solution providers. Your broad responsibilities will include: owning the technical engagement and ultimate success around specific implementation projects; proactively identifying and driving resolution of technical escalations before they become blockers; defining implementation architectures; responding to RFPs; developing a deep expertise in the AWS technologies, particularly AI/ML and Generative AI services, as well as broad know-how around how applications and services are constructed using the AWS platform; and being a subject matter expert on security as it relates to customer applications and services.

As a Solutions Architect on our team, you will provide exceptional technical design and thought leadership to our customers while working with a world class sales and business development team. You will lead efforts to capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the AWS solution architect community. You will gain the opportunity to learn from, collaborate with, and educate some of the brightest technical minds in the industry today across the breadth of enterprise architecture.

You will grow across three key dimensions: Customer Advisory, deepening your craft as a trusted technical advisor; Thought Leadership, building external visibility through blogs, talks, and publications; and Advancing the Organization, contributing mentorship, reusable assets, and internal impact that raises the bar for all.

From idea to IPO and beyond, AWS sets the standard for education technology applications. The AWS Cloud lets EdTechs build and launch solutions that help students learn every day. You will be helping our EdTech customers start, grow, and optimize their businesses on the AWS Cloud. You will work with customers and other AWS team members to solve problems such as scale, or adapting existing solutions for new ways of learning, including helping customers leverage AI to personalize education at scale. The AWS Cloud provides the flexibility and agility needed to experiment; you get to help our customers realize their potential.

Please apply if you are passionate about the following:

  • Helping our customers to design and create cloud computing architectures
  • Helping customers adopt AI/ML and Generative AI to transform their products and operations
  • Our company credo: "Work hard. Have fun. Make history." It"s critical to love what you do and take pride in your value proposition to our customers.
  • Deep-dive technical discussions around design and an intellectual curiosity to always keep your technical skills current while maintaining a pulse on industry trends.
  • Being proactive, anticipating customer needs and potential escalations rather than waiting for fires.

With experience in the following key areas:

  • Technical presentation experience, white board, small and large group presentations
  • Technical, Web Services development/deployment experience, cloud computing, AI/ML or Generative AI experience preferred
  • Operational, Web site/services operations, management, and security
  • Ability to travel 25-30%

About the Company

Amazon.com Inc

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
