Senior Software Test Automation Engineer

The position requires candidate to lead a team of test automation engineers, lead the test automation strategy, manage the automation framework, perform/oversee level of effort estimates, test plans, test case scripting, peer reviews, and test summary reports to ensure a successfully tested release. Blackstone Talent Group, an award-winning technology consulting and talent agency is seeking a Senior Software Test Automation Engineer to join our Client's team.

Position Description: The candidate must be self-driven, with the ability to work independently not only with test engineers and DevOps teams but with business analysts and developers to review software design and requirements documentation to understand the application functionality. The position requires candidate to lead a team of test automation engineers, lead the test automation strategy, manage the automation framework, perform/oversee level of effort estimates, test plans, test case scripting, peer reviews, and test summary reports to ensure a successfully tested release. In addition to manual/ functional testing, the candidate will also need to create automated test and performance test scripts using Selenium, Jmeter or similar tools. The individual will test key functionality, setup and verify data, and report test results to the manager. Individual will be responsible for interacting with clients on a daily basis during testing phases to ensure that release testing defects are communicated to the client and/or support UAT.  

 

Required Skills:

• Experience with manual functional, regression, usability, integration, remote access, and accessibility testing
• Experience with developing automation scripts from scratch with programming code (Java, java script, python, etc.) and experience developing an automation framework from scratch
• Experience using AI throughout testing process to generate test plans, cases, automation, and test reports
• Some experience with developing performance scripts from scratch with programming code
• Web services testing: experience developing scripts using web services tool
• Serving as SME in SQL, DB, back-end testing
• Experience developing level of effort estimates and testing schedules for own work and others, and authoring test plans, test case scripting and test summary reports
• Experience testing in an Agile development environment using tools such as JIRA, Confluence and Zephyr Scale to develop/execute functional and regression test scripts, Requirements Traceability, and manage defects
• Experience with Section 508 testing using tools such as JAWS, SortSite, Dragon, WAVE, or Lighthous
•  Must successfully complete a Public Trust investigation prior to onboarding
• Experience working with a client during User Acceptance Test sessions
