Contract to Hire - 1st Shift, 9/80
Hours:  8am -5pm
Pay Rate:  $61.22/Hr.
Travel:  Yes, 5%

REQUIREMENTS: Senior Software Integration Engineer 
  • Our client requires that candidates must have ability to obtain a DoD Secret Personnel Clearance (PCL), for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.
  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM field
  • Minimum of 4 years of software integration experience
  • Integration of software applications on Red Hat Enterprise Linux
    • Packaging software as RPMs and binary executables
    • Drivers, shared objects, and static libraries
  • Integration and testing of software applications on Red Hat Enterprise Linux Operating Systems
  • Ability to build and maintain a software and hardware integration testbed
  • Understanding of Ethernet and CAN bus protocols
  • Git and Jira/Gitlab Configuration Management tools
  • Exceptional communication (verbal and written) skills are a MUST
  • Familiarity with current computer applications and technologies in applicable engineering disciplines
  • Ability to apply critical thinking to solve technical design and development problems
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with customers to solve technical problems
  • Ability to travel to the customer site

JOB DESCRIPTION: Senior Software Integration Engineer Our client is seeking an individual with experience and a passion for software integration of real-time, embedded software. The Senior Software Integration Engineer plans and performs a variety of tasks across the areas of integrating hardware modules into a combat vehicle system, integrating software items onto Linux Operating Systems, scripting, networking, cybersecurity hardening and scans, troubleshooting, problem solving, and software verification testing.

The Senior Software Integration Engineer: Senior Software Integration Engineer 
  • Integrates and tests software applications running on Red Hat Enterprise Linux and hardware components on a combat vehicle system
  • Applies knowledge of Ethernet and CAN bus within software applications or tools to test and troubleshoot problems
  • Collaborates with multidisciplinary engineering and vehicle test teams to investigate reported issues and analyze collected data
  • Mentors less experienced software engineers to develop their software integration and test, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ensures that technical approach is consistent with established engineering principles and practices
  • Ensures that product outcomes meet customer needs and that customer and company technical, system, performance, process, and quality requirements are met
SKILLS PREFERRED: Senior Software Integration Engineer
  • Familiarity with embedded systems
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (Bash, PowerShell, Python)
  • Familiarity with C and C++ programming • Familiarity with VxWorks or other RTOS
  • Familiarity with relevant military and commercial design standards
  • Familiarity with MIL-STD-1553
  • Familiarity with UML modeling tools
  • Familiarity with DOORS
  • Familiarity with CMMI for development
  • Familiarity with Qt Framework for front end GUIs utilizing QML
  • Familiarity with Ethernet based protocols (SSL/TLS, SSH, SFTP)
  • Familiarity with Nessus and Coverity cybersecurity scans
  • Familiarity with hardening of systems and applying STIG rules
  • Familiarity with the configuration and use of virtual machines
EXPERIENCE PREFERRED: Senior Software Integration Engineer
  • Experience using NI TestStand
  • Familiarity with combat vehicle functionality and capability
EDUCATION PREFERRED: Senior Software Integration Engineer
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science
