Description

Position: Senior Software Engineer

Job Location: 1375 Crossman Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94089

Duties: Assess software gaps, updates, and modifications between the customer and business expectations and the existing software product and solutions (in case of agile methodology, for the iteration). Classify the requirements into applicable types. Anticipate the solution risks and issues during requirements gathering phase, inform relevant stakeholders and recommend corrective steps. Contribute to the creation of user stories for software components, applications, or complex. Assist in design of software solutions such that the processes and software applications work in tandem for specific software components and modules of a product. Evaluate trade-offs while designing a component based on the business requirements. Assist in conversion of HLD (High Level Design) to create detailed designs using mock screens, pseudo codes, and detailed functional logic of the modules for specific modules and components of a product. Create and configure minimalistic software code for entire the software component or software application and ensure the components are meeting business and technical requirements, non-functional requirements, low-maintenance, high-availability, and high-scalability needs. Assist in the selection of appropriate languages and software development standards and tools for software coding and configuration. Take initiative to learn the fundamentals of different coding languages and frameworks that would be useful for future scope of work. Build scripts for automation of repetitive and routine tasks in CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery), testing, or any other process. Implement telemetry features as required independently. Ensure security policy requirements are properly applied to software components and applications during code development and configuration. Map the customer requirements into test objectives. Identify and create test cases for the component or module. Execute test cases to test the code and detect errors and defects for the entire component. Execute different types of testing using appropriate testing tools based on the testing needs. Track and analyze defects for the component or module and carry out regression testing to fix defects in all instances of code changes. Analyze defects from past software engineering solutions to avoid recurrence of similar defects. Troubleshoot performance and availability bottlenecks for the application. Conduct complex maintenance procedures for applications independently. Monitor and evaluate the performance of the application by tracking and analyzing appropriate metrics. Perform maintenance (corrective, adaptive, perfective) and re-engineering activities. Analyze application logs, maintenance activity data, and performance data and provide analysis. Evaluate change requests to identify those which are valid and feasible.

Skills required: Experience with coding and scripting in Python and Shell for backend automation and monitoring systems (Python and Bash). Experience with writing queries and maintaining relational databases like MySQL, Postgres, and SQL server. Experience with designing and implementing applications and backend modules in object-oriented programming languages (Python). Experience with developing Rest APIs and service-based integrations with Rest APIs. Experience with designing, optimizing queries and automating in non-relational databases like Elasticsearch. Experience with monitoring and validating large scale systems (Kafka, Zookeeper, Elasticsearch, and Redis). Experience with designing and automating for cloud-based environments (Azure and OpenStack). Experience with creating deployment, release, operational and RCA documentation. Experience with automating deployments and pre and post validation scripts for Linux and Java applications. Experience with providing support for applications, end-users with debugging, validation, deployment and RCA. Experience with testing applications, validating and deploying across environments. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.

Salary Range: $185,587.00/year to $234,000.00/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.
