Senior Software Engineer

Location: Overland Park, KS (Hybrid)
Pay: $100,000 - $145,000/year
Work Authorization: Green Card Required

About the Role

COMPANY is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to help build next-generation sports data and analytics technology. This is a hands-on role where you'll design, develop, and support scalable software solutions while collaborating closely with Engineering, Product, and Data Science teams.

We're looking for an engineer who enjoys solving complex problems, building reliable systems, and leveraging AI-assisted development tools to improve software quality and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• 
  
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable software solutions.
• 
  
• Translate business and product requirements into technical designs.
• 
  
• Build and maintain APIs, WebSocket functionality, and system integrations.
• 
  
• Develop cloud-based applications using AWS services including EC2, ECS, DynamoDB, ALB, and Systems Manager.
• 
  
• Work with real-time and distributed technologies such as NATS PubSub, Apache Ignite, and Tinybird.
• 
  
• Write clean, maintainable code and participate in testing, code reviews, and best practices.
• 
  
• Collaborate with Data Science teams to support feature pipelines, model-serving APIs, and data integrations.
• 
  
• Utilize AI development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, and Claude Code throughout the software development lifecycle.
• 
  
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and drive continuous improvement across systems and processes.

Qualifications

• 
  
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field with 4+ years of software engineering experience, or 6+ years of equivalent professional experience.
• 
  
• Strong Java development experience and knowledge of object-oriented design principles.
• 
  
• Experience with automated testing, Groovy, and Spock.
• 
  
• Experience developing APIs and WebSocket solutions using Ruby.
• 
  
• Strong AWS and cloud application development experience.
• 
  
• Experience with real-time/distributed systems, including NATS PubSub and Apache Ignite.
• 
  
• Experience with Git, Bitbucket, Jira, and Agile methodologies.
• 
  
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• 
  

Preferred Qualifications

• 
  
• Experience integrating machine learning or Data Science solutions into production applications.
• 
  
• Experience with AI-assisted development, prompt engineering, and agentic coding workflows.
