Senior Software Engineer, Palantir Foundry 
Location: Rosemead, CA 91770 (Hybrid - Onsite Tuesdays & Wednesdays)
Duration: 12+ months
Pay Rate: $61.29 - $70.68/hr
Education: Bachelor's Degree required
 
Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Provide ongoing operational support for Grid Resiliency portfolio, including PSPS application build in Palantir Foundry.
• Develop, manage, and reuse high-quality, modular software code in Foundry’s Code Repositories & Function Repositories (e.g., reusable transform logic, shared libraries, version control, branching, code reviews, optimization for distributed execution).
• Implement/configure Palantir software; maintain ETL pipelines, ontology (access, changes, governance), and integrations with SaaS/PaaS solutions.
• Design/develop/configure supporting app components (databases, data marts/warehouses, middleware, BI tools); provide architectural governance on ontology, pipelines/DAGs per enterprise standards.
• Build/enhance workshops, dashboards, Pipeline Builder, Quiver, automations for end-to-end functionality.
• Collaborate with third-party providers (infrastructure, enterprise cloud); support compute agents, hosting, and ops for reliable Foundry runtime.
• Deliver agile app maintenance (break/fix, enhancements, patches); document methodologies, policies, OLAs, RACIs.
• Ensure compliance with PSPS wildfire/CPUC guidelines; optimize resource use via Foundry’s Resource Management (compute, costs, storage); drive portfolio rationalization.
• Participate in on-call rotation with off-hours response; perform RCA and post-incident improvements.

 
Required Skills/Attributes
Technical:

• Software engineering with full-stack fundamentals (depth in data platforms).
• App design/maintenance; Python & TypeScript proficiency.
• Data pipeline architecture; Palantir Foundry familiarity.
• End-to-end ownership; front-end design (Workshop preferred); RCA/root cause analysis.

 
Operational:

• Architectural trade-offs; risk identification/escalation.
• Strong stakeholder communication; ambiguity navigation in production.
• High-stakes decisions under pressure; complex workflows with tight timelines.

 
Desired Skills/Attributes
Technical:

• Data engineering experience; advanced Python (PySpark, Polars).
• Foundry tools (Pipeline Builder, Code Repos, Data Connection); ontology design/data modeling.
• Data lineage/impact analysis; pipeline troubleshooting; business logic translation.
• Downstream impact assessment.

Operational/Other:

• Utility/resiliency experience; on-call willingness.
