Company Description

We're representing a rapidly growing legal AI company transforming how enterprises review and manage complex legal documents. Their platform combines proprietary AI technology with human expertise to dramatically accelerate contract review workflows while maintaining exceptional quality and accuracy.

Having recently raised a Series B and scaled to approximately 70 employees, the company is experiencing significant customer growth and expanding its engineering organization. This is an opportunity to join a high-ownership, product-focused team building AI-powered systems that are redefining legal services and document intelligence.

What You Will Do

• Design and build scalable backend systems that process large volumes of legal contracts and documents.
• Develop and maintain full-stack product features using Python, TypeScript, and modern frontend technologies.
• Build agentic AI workflows leveraging LLMs, NLP, and emerging AI technologies to automate legal review processes.
• Own features end-to-end, from product ideation and technical design through deployment and iteration.
• Partner closely with founders, product leaders, customers, and cross-functional teams to define product priorities.
• Translate customer feedback into impactful product improvements and technical solutions.
• Help shape technical architecture and engineering best practices as the company scales.
• Mentor and support fellow engineers while contributing to a strong engineering culture.
• Drive roadmap discussions with a product-oriented mindset focused on business outcomes.
• Operate with high ownership and autonomy in a fast-paced startup environment.

Ideal Background

• 4–5+ years of software engineering experience with a backend-leaning full-stack background.
• Strong professional experience with Python and TypeScript.
• Experience building and scaling production systems in startup environments.
• At least one year of experience at an early-stage startup (Seed through Series B preferred).
• Proven ability to build products from zero to one and thrive in ambiguous environments.
• Strong product intuition with the ability to prioritize work based on customer and business needs.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
• Demonstrated ownership mentality and willingness to move quickly with minimal direction.
• Computer Science degree or related technical degree from an accredited institution.

Preferred

• Experience building AI-powered products using LLMs, NLP, retrieval systems, or agentic workflows.
• Experience with frontend frameworks such as React, Vue, or Svelte.
• Founding engineer, startup founder, or early employee experience.
• Background at high-growth technology companies such as Ramp, Mercury, Plaid, Stripe, Brex, Deel, Airbnb, Robinhood, Notion, Coinbase, or similar environments.
• Experience mentoring engineers and helping elevate team performance.
• Familiarity with legal technology, document processing, workflow automation, or enterprise SaaS products.
• Strong systems design and architecture experience.

Compensation and Benefits  

• Base salary: $220,000–$300,000.
