We are Pepoltek, an IT company building a portfolio of SaaS products used across education, HR, and enterprise operations, including BIDYATek, a school management platform for institutions across Bangladesh, our Intelligent HR Solution, a cloud-based HRMS used by growing companies, and an Enterprise ERP suite for supply chain and financial operations. Alongside our own products, we work with software development partners across the globe to extend our engineering capacity on their behalf. 

We are hiring a Senior Software Engineer for one of these partners, an AI platform for construction capital program owners based in New York, to join their lean, high-performing team.

The Role
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with 5+ years of experience to join a lean, high-performing AI startup building the data backbone and automation platform for construction owners. You'll be a deeply technical IC who thrives in early-stage environments, shipping production backend services, making architectural decisions, and mentoring junior engineers, with a clear path to grow into the Lead Engineer role within 3 to 6 months. We need someone who has been a founding engineer or early hire at a B2B SaaS startup, is comfortable wearing multiple hats, and brings a product mindset alongside deep Python and AWS expertise.

What You'll Do

• Design, build, and operate production-grade backend services and data pipelines using Python and AWS, including Lambda, Step Functions, and serverless architectures
• Make critical architectural and system design decisions, leveraging AI coding tools to accelerate development
• Own features end to end from backend to front end, in a codebase that is roughly 90 percent backend and 10 percent frontend
• Engage directly with customers and forward deployed engineers to understand workflows and translate ambiguous needs into shipped software
• Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, design discussions, and pairing

What You'll Bring

• Founding engineer or early employee experience at a B2B SaaS startup, among roughly the first 10 hires, at seed or Series A stage
• 3 to 6 years of backend software engineering experience, having owned production backend systems end to end, not just contributed to them
• Advanced Python expertise for production backend systems
• Strong hands-on AWS experience, including Lambda, Step Functions, and serverless architectures
• A product mindset, willing to talk to customers and clarify requirements directly
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related STEM field

Nice to Have

• Prior tech lead or mentorship experience guiding junior engineers
• Experience with AI coding tools and agentic development workflows
• A strong startup engineering track record is also considered without a formal degree

Growth
There is a clear path to the Lead Engineer role within 3 to 6 months, with direct customer exposure and ownership of architectural decisions from day one.

Compensation and Perks

• $180,000 to $200,000 base salary
• Competitive equity

Candidates must have current work authorization in the United States without need for employer sponsorship.
