Senior Software Engineer, Network Automation

What You Will Do

• Design and build network automation frameworks for provisioning, configuration, and lifecycle management
• Develop production-quality software and automation primarily in Python
• Build APIs, services, and self-service networking tools
• Automate network deployment and configuration using Ansible, Terraform, and Jinja2
• Integrate network automation into CI/CD pipelines
• Contribute to architecture and system design decisions
• Build observability and telemetry solutions for network performance and availability
• Partner with Network Engineering, Platform Engineering, Security, and Infrastructure teams
• Support incident response, root cause analysis, and reliability improvements
• Identify manual processes and build software-driven solutions to eliminate operational toil

• 5+ years of software engineering, network automation, or related engineering experience
• Strong hands-on Python programming skills
• Strong software engineering fundamentals including testing, version control, code review, and CI/CD
• Experience building network automation tools, services, or platforms
• Strong networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, load balancing, routing, switching, and network security
• Experience with Ansible, Terraform, Jinja2, or similar Infrastructure as Code tools
• Experience with API design and service integrations
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Understanding of distributed systems, microservices, security, fault tolerance, and observability
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to take ownership in a fast-moving environment

• BGP, OSPF, VRF, VLANs, ACLs, and firewall technologies
• Large-scale data center networking
• Cisco, Arista, Juniper, or similar network platforms
• Multitenant networking or segment routing
• Relational, NoSQL, or graph databases
• Kafka, RabbitMQ, or other event-driven architectures
• Service discovery, secrets management, or policy-as-code
• AI or machine learning applied to infrastructure automation
• HPC, cloud, or other large-scale compute environments
