Senior Software Engineer in Test

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in Test for a leading cybersecurity technology client in the Raleigh-Durham, NC area. The Senior Software Engineer in Test role is a contract position and requires you to be remote in the RTP area. The Senior Software Engineer in Test role is ideal for an experienced test automation professional with a strong background in building frameworks from the ground up and supporting Common Criteria (CC) security initiatives.

Responsibilities of the Senior Software Engineer in Test include: • Architect, develop, and maintain automated testing solutions to support Common Criteria (CC) certification projects. • Build and scale test automation frameworks from scratch to improve test coverage, reliability, and efficiency. • Partner with software engineers, security teams, and project stakeholders to validate application functionality and compliance requirements. • Design and execute automated and manual test strategies for web applications, APIs, and backend services. • Investigate defects, perform root cause analysis, and drive quality improvements throughout the software development lifecycle.

Requirements of the Senior Software Engineer in Test include: • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field. • 4+ years of software testing and quality assurance experience. • Proven experience creating and implementing a test automation framework from scratch. • Strong knowledge of test automation tools, test design methodologies, and software development best practices. • Experience supporting Common Criteria (CC) projects, security-focused applications, or regulated environments is highly preferred.

Compensation for the Senior Software Engineer in Test include: • $110,000 - 130,000 annually • Full Comprehensive Benefits: Health, Vision, Dental, PTO, Paid Holiday and Sick Leave if Required by Law. • Contract opportunity • This job opens for applications on 9/4/2026.
