Our client, a global investment management firm, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their team in El Segundo, CA!
Responsibilities:-
Own projects and initiatives across the development lifecycle, from defining requirements through architecture, delivery, and ongoing support.

Work independently to turn ambiguous business needs into well-designed technical solutions, making sound decisions with minimal oversight.

Partner with portfolio managers, analysts, and business teams to understand their goals and manage expectations along the way.

Design and build full-stack and backend services in Python and SQL, with React/TypeScript where it makes sense.

Use AI-assisted development tools and build workflows or automations that help you and your team ship faster, test smarter, and spend less time on repetitive tasks.

Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, pairing, and day-to-day guidance.

Bring a thoughtful eye to code reviews, including AI-generated code, so what the team ships is reliable, secure, and built to last.

Help set engineering standards and share best practices for AI-assisted development across the team.
Qualifications:-
8+ years of hands-on software engineering, with a track record of shipping and owning production applications.

Experience serving as the primary engineer on projects, from design through delivery.

Strong Python and SQL. Experience with at least one additional language, such as TypeScript, Go, C#, or Java.

Hands-on experience using AI development tools to improve how you build and ship software. Experience with any tools is welcome, and building your own workflows or automations is a strong plus.

Proven ability to work independently in ambiguous environments and drive projects forward without detailed direction.

Strong system design fundamentals, including APIs, data and entity modeling, and the ability to explain architectural tradeoffs clearly.

Experience mentoring or guiding other engineers.

Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), CI/CD, Docker, and Git.

Clear communication with technical and business audiences.
Pluses:-
Experience building AI into products, such as LLM integrations, RAG, or agents.

React/TypeScript frontend experience.

Distributed, event-driven, or microservice architectures.

Large enterprise or regulated environments.
-
Finance or investment industry exposure. This is not required.
Pay Rate: $100 - $120/hr
