Careerscape is recruiting on behalf of our client, a mission-driven defense technology organization, for a Senior Software Engineer to support technical users within a classified High Performance Computing (HPC) research and development environment in Colorado Springs, CO. This is a high-impact role for an experienced engineer who wants to work at the intersection of software engineering, systems administration, and mission-critical modeling and simulation, directly enabling researchers and analysts to get the most out of a demanding classified computing environment.
Day to day, you will be the go-to technical resource for HPC users, helping them onboard, resolve access issues, troubleshoot workflows, and maintain the scripts and tools that keep their modeling and simulation work moving. You will spend your time split between hands-on user support, scripting and code maintenance, and coordination with O&M and security teams, so this role suits someone who is equally comfortable debugging a Fortran routine, writing clear documentation, and explaining a technical issue to a non-technical stakeholder. People who thrive here are patient troubleshooters, strong communicators, and genuinely enjoy helping other engineers and scientists succeed.
