Triumphant Nerd is searching for a Senior Software Engineer to build command-and-control software and backend services for our client's autonomous systems.
We're looking for a hands-on engineer with 4+ years of backend or service-layer engineering experience and a background in autonomy. You'll connect sensors, robotic platforms, and intelligent software, building cloud and edge systems that help operators manage autonomous vehicles and fleets in real-world missions.
What we're looking for:
- 4+ years of backend or service-layer software engineering experience, currently working as a hands-on individual contributor
- Experience building and owning core backend services, including microservices, APIs, or middleware connecting multiple systems
- Hands-on experience with real-time data exchange and messaging between live external services
- *Must have: background in autonomous vehicles, drones, robotics, or factory automation
- Tech stack: Rust, Python, C++, or Java
- Experience shipping software from prototype to field deployment in a startup or similarly fast-moving environment
- Ability to build scalable, reliable systems and collaborate with robotics, hardware, and systems engineering teams
- Experience integrating LLMs, AI agents, or related toolchains is a plus
- Degree in computer science, robotics, electrical engineering, or a related technical field
- Must be a U.S. citizen and eligible to obtain a U.S. security clearance
- Must be based in or willing to relocate to Seattle, NYC, Washington, DC, or Palo Alto
- Salary: Up to $275K, plus equity and great perks
