Senior Software Developer
Location: Fully Remote
Duration:12+ months

We are looking for a Senior Software Developer to join our engineering team. You will design, build, and maintain backend services and data pipelines that power our core product. You'll work closely with product and infrastructure teams to deliver reliable, scalable software and help raise the bar for engineering quality across the team.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop robust backend services using the Spring ecosystem (Spring Boot, Spring Data, Spring Security)
  • Model, query, and optimize PostgreSQL databases with PostGIS for geospatial data workloads
  • Containerize and deploy applications using Docker and Kubernetes
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or equivalent)
  • Architect and operate cloud infrastructure on AWS (EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, EKS, etc.)
  • Collaborate in code reviews, contributing to and upholding engineering standards
  • Mentor junior and mid-level developers
  • Participate in on-call rotations and incident response when needed

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional software development experience
  • Strong proficiency in Java and the Spring framework (Boot, MVC, Data JPA)
  • Deep experience with PostgreSQL, including geospatial queries using PostGIS
  • Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes in production environments
  • Familiarity with AWS services and cloud-native architecture patterns
  • Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, CircleCI, or similar)
  • Strong understanding of RESTful API design, distributed systems, and data modeling
  • Comfortable working asynchronously in a fully remote environment

Nice to Have

  • Experience with event-driven architectures (Kafka, SQS, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, CDK)
  • Exposure to observability tooling (Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana)
  • Contributions to open-source projects
