POSITION OVERVIEW
As a Senior Slip Ring Design Engineeryour roles and responsibilities will include:
The Senior Slip Ring Design Engineer is responsible for designing, analyzing, and developing high reliability slip ring assemblies and other precision rotating electromechanical systems used in aerospace, defense, and space applications. This role takes products from concept and proposal stages through detailed design, analysis, production drawings, manufacturing support, testing, and product launch.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop precision rotating electromechanical equipment and slip ring assemblies.
- Perform mechanical, thermal, and electrical analyses to ensure product performance and reliability.
- Create and maintain engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Apply GD&T standards and design for manufacturing/assembly principles.
- Conduct FEA analysis and support product testing and validation activities.
- Interpret customer requirements and technical specifications.
- Serve as the primary technical contact for customers and suppliers.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and engineering teams throughout the product lifecycle.
- Support production builds, troubleshooting, and continuous product improvements.
- Contribute to internal research and development initiatives to advance existing technologies.

Senior Slip Ring Design Engineer would be someone with deep experience in many (if not all) of the following:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aeronautical Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of experience designing and analyzing precision rotating electromechanical equipment.
- Strong mechanical design experience with production hardware.
- Experience with CAD/CAE software and FEA analysis.
- Proficiency in GD&T and engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, machining capabilities, and drafting standards.
- Understanding of electrical principles.
Preferred Qualifications
- Aerospace, defense, or military product design experience.
- Mechanical design for rugged environments.
- Electronic packaging and assembly integration experience.
- Familiarity with military standards and MIL-SPEC testing requirements.
- Experience with UG NX and ANSYS.
