Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Shopify Developer with a strong background in Shopify Plus, custom application development, API integrations, and enterprise eCommerce implementations.

The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 8 years of relevant web application development experience, with a proven track record of leading technical design discussions, providing development leadership, and delivering scalable solutions that integrate with enterprise systems such as ERP, CRM, PIM, and payment platforms.

Required Qualifications

• Overall Web Development: 8+ years of professional hands-on web application development experience.
• Shopify Core Expertise: 5+ years of specialized experience developing, customizing, and managing Shopify and Shopify Plus implementations.
• Front-End Engineering: 5+ years of expert-level experience with Liquid, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, and modern front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Vue, or Hydrogen).
• Custom App & Extensibility: 3+ years of experience architecting and developing custom Shopify apps (public/custom) and utilizing Shopify Functions to extend platform capabilities.
• API & Data Integration: 4+ years of deep working experience with Shopify Admin APIs, Storefront APIs, GraphQL, and REST APIs.
• Enterprise Third-Party Integrations: 4+ years of hands-on experience seamlessly connecting Shopify with complex enterprise systems, specifically:
• CRM: HubSpot (3+ years preferred)
• ERP: SAP or equivalent enterprise ERP systems (3+ years preferred)
• Core Services: Payment providers, tax engines, advanced search platforms, and marketing automation tools (3+ years).
• DevOps & Workflow: 4+ years of experience utilizing GitHub-based development workflows, branching strategies, and CI/CD automation processes.
• Optimization & Diagnostic: 5+ years of advanced troubleshooting, performance tuning, and deep debugging skills within high-traffic eCommerce environments.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: 5+ years of demonstrated ability to operate independently, lead technical tracks, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional technical and business stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• B2B Commerce: 2+ years of experience designing and implementing B2B Commerce solutions on Shopify Plus.
• Platform Migration: 2+ years of experience migrating complex data and frontend functionality from legacy eCommerce platforms (e.g., Magento, Salesforce Commerce Cloud) to Shopify.
• Cloud & Middleware: 3+ years of familiarity with AWS services (e.g., Lambda, API Gateway, EC2) and middleware/iPaaS tools used for data orchestration.
• Checkout & Security: 3+ years of experience implementing custom checkout solutions (Checkout Extensibility) with a deep understanding of enterprise security, scalability, and performance best practices.

Responsibilities

• Architecture & Development (8+ years context): Design, develop, and support enterprise-grade Shopify solutions and integrations, ensuring high quality and adherence to industry best practices.
• Custom Customization (5+ years context): Build and maintain robust custom applications and services to safely extend native Shopify capabilities without impacting platform stability.
• Cross-Functional Alignment (5+ years context): Collaborate actively with architects, business analysts, QA teams, and product owners to translate business requirements into technical blueprints.
• Enterprise Sync (4+ years context): Own and support integration efforts bridging Shopify with SAP, HubSpot, and other core enterprise systems.
• Performance Engineering (5+ years context): Continuously optimize application performance, scalability, page speed metrics, and data reliability.
• Technical Governance (3+ years context): Actively participate in, and frequently lead, architecture reviews and technical design sessions.
• Production Support (8+ years context): Assist with high-tier production support, root-cause analysis, and complex issue resolution as needed.
• Strategic Advisory (5+ years context): Provide strategic recommendations on Shopify features, updates, ecosystem tools, and future-state architecture.
• Additional Information
• Seniority: Strictly a Senior-level resource capable of driving technical delivery independently.
• Communication: Exceptional English verbal and written communication skills are mandatory for stakeholder alignment.
• Delivery Environment: Experience working with distributed/remote teams across different time zones is preferred.
• Business Acumen: Ability to confidently engage in solution design discussions with both highly technical engineers and non-technical business leaders.

NTT DATA provides a reasonable range of compensation for U.S.-based positions. The starting pay range for this remote role is [70 - 80 $ W2 hourly range]. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation for the position across all US locations. Actual compensation will depend on a number of factors, including the candidate's actual work location, relevant experience, technical skills, and other qualifications.
