A rapidly growing specialty insurance organization is seeking a Senior SEC Reporting Analyst to help build and enhance its public company reporting function. This is a unique opportunity for an accounting professional who wants exposure beyond a traditional SEC reporting environment and is interested in helping establish processes, controls, and reporting infrastructure within a high-growth business.
This position will play a key role in supporting SEC filings, technical accounting research, SOX compliance initiatives, and external audit activities while partnering closely with Accounting, FP&A, Investor Relations, and executive leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation of SEC filings, including Forms 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, registration statements, and proxy materials
- Prepare supporting workpapers, disclosure tie-outs, and documentation to ensure accuracy of public filings
- Support technical accounting research and preparation of accounting memoranda related to complex GAAP and SEC reporting matters
- Assist in the preparation of consolidated financial statements, cash flow statements, equity rollforwards, and footnote disclosures
- Review and validate XBRL reporting for SEC submissions
- Participate in the design, implementation, and testing of internal controls over financial reporting to support SOX compliance
- Coordinate with external auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audits
- Partner with FP&A and Investor Relations teams on quarterly variance analysis and MD&A support
- Collaborate across finance and operational functions to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial reporting
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
- CPA designation or active progress toward certification strongly preferred
- 2+ years of accounting experience within SEC reporting, technical accounting, or public accounting
- Big Four public accounting experience preferred
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements
- Exposure to SOX compliance, internal controls, or insurance accounting is a plus
- Advanced Excel skills required
- Experience with Workiva or similar SEC reporting software preferred
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
