About the Role
The Sr. Salesforce Developer builds and improves Perry Homes' Salesforce platform. Sales Cloud is the core of the role, centered on the lead-to-opportunity journey that connects homebuyers with our sales teams, with Service Cloud work as needed. This developer delivers Apex, Lightning Web Components, and Flows, uses existing platform capability and configuration before custom code, and works with integration teams on connections to our custom quoting and configuration platform (SalesHub) and Azure/.NET middleware.
The role is part of building Perry Homes' in-house Salesforce capability. Early work centers on improving Sales Cloud (lead conversion, duplicate management, data quality), helping establish source control and CI/CD practices, improving test coverage and monitoring, and supporting the move of codebase ownership to the internal team. Perry Homes does not build software for sale; what you build serves our sales teams and homebuyers directly.
What You"ll Do
- Build and maintain Sales Cloud solutions for lead capture, lead-to-opportunity conversion, assignment, duplicate management, and the opportunity lifecycle.
- Use existing Salesforce capability and configuration (Flows, Duplicate and Matching Rules, validation rules) before custom code, and help decide when Apex or LWC is the right choice.
- Develop Apex (triggers, batch, queueable, and scheduled jobs) with test classes that have meaningful assertions, and refactor existing code to improve test coverage and reliability.
- Build Lightning Web Components and Screen Flows with clear validation and error messages.
- Support Service Cloud development as needed, including warranty case workflows, and occasional Marketing Cloud integration work with the Marketing team's administrator.
- Maintain and improve the security model (permission sets, least-privilege access), with architect review.
- Collaborate with integration teams on the Salesforce side of connections to SalesHub and Azure/.NET middleware.
- Build logging, error handling, monitoring, and alerting for critical Salesforce automations and integrations; help reconcile records when a sync fails; and provide production support for escalated issues.
