Position Summary
The State of Tennessee is seeking a Salesforce Platform Administrator II to provide advanced Salesforce system administration and platform support across State agencies and departments.
The position supports 11 statewide Salesforce orgs utilizing Public Sector Solutions, Experience Cloud, Service Cloud, and Sales Cloud. Responsibilities include user and security administration, Salesforce configuration, small-to-medium platform enhancements, automation, data quality, reporting, release support, and troubleshooting.
The Administrator II will work closely with agency stakeholders, vendor partners, and internal Salesforce org owners to maintain stable, secure, and high-performing Salesforce solutions while ensuring compliance with STS governance, security, documentation, and audit requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Salesforce Administration
- Provide daily Salesforce platform administration.
- Manage user provisioning and user access.
- Configure profiles and permissions.
- Manage platform security configurations.
- Maintain Salesforce objects and configurations.
- Troubleshoot user and system issues and escalate complex problems when necessary.
Configuration & Enhancements
Implement small-to-medium Salesforce enhancements, including:
- Page layout updates.
- Salesforce Flows.
- Process automation changes.
- Minor data-model modifications.
- Object configuration.
- Security and permission changes.
Translate business requirements from agency stakeholders into actionable Salesforce configuration tasks.
Multi-Org Platform Support
- Support 11 statewide Salesforce orgs.
- Work across environments utilizing:
- Public Sector Solutions
- Experience Cloud
- Service Cloud
- Sales Cloud
- Coordinate with internal Salesforce teams and vendors to maintain consistency across organizations.
- Manage competing priorities within a multi-org Salesforce environment.
Data Management & Reporting
- Monitor and maintain Salesforce data quality.
- Support duplicate prevention.
- Perform data hygiene and validation activities.
- Maintain and update reports and dashboards based on agency requirements.
- Apply Salesforce data-management principles and best practices.
Release & Deployment Support
- Assist with release-management activities.
- Prepare Salesforce sandboxes.
- Coordinate testing.
- Support deployments.
- Work within Agile and iterative delivery processes.
Governance & Compliance
- Ensure Salesforce configuration follows STS standards.
- Follow established governance processes.
- Maintain compliance with security requirements.
- Support documentation and audit requirements.
Platform Improvement
- Stay current with Salesforce releases and new capabilities.
- Evaluate relevant platform improvements.
- Recommend enhancements where appropriate.
- Support the continued stability and performance of statewide Salesforce solutions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in:
- Computer Science

- Related field
- Minimum 3 years of professional Salesforce administration experience.
- Strong Salesforce administration experience, including:

- Experience with Salesforce reports and dashboards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Certification Requirement
The candidate must have, or obtain within the State's established timeframe:
- Salesforce Certified Administrator
