Summary Mortenson is currently seeking a Senior Safety Engineer I that will be responsible for implementing Mortenson's Zero Injury Safety program across multiple project sites and ensuring a safe work environment for team members, subcontractors, and visitors to the construction work site.Responsibilities Implement and administer safety programs at worksites, including site‑specific safety activities and training programsDocument and track safety violations, conduct safety audits, and analyze loss control dataLead OSHA reporting, monitor subcontractor activities, and review safety submittalsRecord, monitor, and analyze safety, injury, and hazard statisticsProvide safety‑related information, evaluate industrial hygiene concerns, and maintain knowledge of safety standardsServe as a resource for safety issues, attend safety meetings, and assist with major incident analysisWork with client safety personnel, union representatives, and insurance risk engineersEnsure maintenance and inspection of safety equipment and build relationships with diverse backgrounds and organizational levelsQualifications Bachelor's degree in safety, occupational health, or equivalentQualifications (continued) High school diploma with CHST Certification, OSHA500, and a minimum of 10 years construction experience leading crews and planning work, including at least six years as a dedicated construction safety professional responsible for managing project safety programs, conducting / reviewing hazard analyses and developing controls, conducting safety training, and planning work activities or equivalent experience in a relevant fieldMinimum of four years of construction safety experienceCurrent valid driver's licenseDetail‐oriented with the ability to organize and manage multiple project tasksProficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant safety software programsPositive and professional attitude with strong customer service skillsAbility to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies effectivelyWillingness to travel up to 100%A few benefits offered include Non‑Craft & Non‑Union Craft working 25+ hours / weekMedical and prescription drug plans that includes no additional cost vision coverageDental plan401k retirement plan with a generous Mortenson matchPaid time off, holidays, and other paid leavesEmployer paid Life, AD&D, and disability insuranceNo‑Cost mental health tool and concierge with extensive work‑life resourcesTuition reimbursementAdoption AssistanceGym Membership Discount ProgramThe base pay range for this role is $89,000- $120,000MAX. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%).Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.
