POSITION OVERVIEW
As a Senior Rust Software Developer SMES, your roles and responsibilities will include:
- Lead the adoption and deployment of Rust across multiple mission-critical product lines.
- Provide best practices, architectural guidance, design patterns, idioms, and tooling for memory-safe Rust development.
- Support embedded software application development using Rust.
- Guide the integration and conversion of legacy C/C++ software to Rust.
- Translate requirements into working and maintainable software solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to develop and evaluate hardware/software interfaces.
- Participate throughout the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, hardware/software integration, and formal testing.
- Investigate root causes of complex issues and implement effective solutions.
- Develop software test plans, procedures, and technical documentation.
- Participate in peer reviews, identify defects, and track and implement corrective solutions.
- Utilize Rust, C/C++, Python, and other software languages as required.
- Work as a key member of a Scrum team to help establish product and infrastructure development direction and strategy.
QUALIFICATIONS

Senior Rust Software Developer who enjoys his work and is considered to be one of the best within your organization. The ideal
Senior Rust Software Developer would be someone with deep experience in many (if not all) of the following:
- U.S. citizenship with an active DoD Secret clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 6+ years of relevant experience; graduate degree with 4+ years of related experience; or 10+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
- 3+ years of production Rust software development experience with deep knowledge of the language.
- Strong C/C++ development experience.
- Experience developing Rust software for embedded systems.
- Experience with embedded systems development.
- Experience converting C/C++ applications or codebases to Rust.
- Object-oriented design and implementation experience.
- Experience with software modeling and UML tools such as IBM Rhapsody or MagicDraw/Cameo is a plus.
- Experience developing device drivers and Board Support Packages for real-time embedded systems is preferred.
- Experience with information assurance and/or cryptography is a plus.
- Experience with NSA Type 1 or other software certifications such as DO-178 is a plus.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional engineering environment.
