    Senior Right of Way Specialist

    Location: Denver, CO
    Job Type: Long-Term Contract

    Aspen Technical Staffing is seeking an experienced Senior Right of Way Specialist for a long-term contract opportunity with our client in Denver, Colorado. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned right of way professional who thrives in a leadership role and has extensive experience with land acquisition, property negotiations, permitting, and project management. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in supporting infrastructure and utility projects while leading project teams, mentoring staff, and ensuring successful project execution from planning through completion.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead Right of Way projects from planning through completion, including budgeting, scheduling, and establishing project objectives.
    • Coordinate and oversee land acquisition activities, property negotiations, title research, surveys, permitting, construction coordination, and property restoration.
    • Review and ensure quality of:
      • Easements, deeds, leases, licenses, permits, and other land agreements.
      • Real property documentation.
      • Right of Way documentation and stakeholder database entries.
    • Prepare and submit permit applications.
    • Present technical information and project updates to project teams, clients, stakeholders, and public audiences.
    • Prepare project status reports, acquisition reports, technical reports, and management updates.
    • Coordinate document preparation, document control, meeting agendas, and other project documentation.
    • Manage subcontractor relationships, including contracts, invoices, and change orders.
    • Participate in and present at public involvement meetings.
    • Support business development efforts by assisting with marketing initiatives and identifying new project opportunities.
    • Train, mentor, and provide guidance to junior staff.
    • Ensure adherence to QA/QC processes and project quality standards.
    • Maintain compliance with all company policies, safety standards, and project requirements.
    • Perform additional duties as assigned.

    Required Qualifications

    Education & Experience

    • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field with 8+ years of Right of Way acquisition, relocation, eminent domain, project management, or real estate experience.

    Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered:

    • High School Diploma + 12 years of relevant experience
    • Associate Degree + 10 years of relevant experience
    • Bachelor's Degree + 8 years of relevant experience

    Required Skills & Qualifications

    • Strong knowledge of Right of Way acquisition and real estate processes.
    • Ability to read and interpret:
      • Title reports
      • Appraisal reports
      • Land surveys
    • Demonstrated knowledge of:
      • Real estate law
      • Real estate title work
    • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
    • Strong organizational, planning, and time management abilities.
    • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within project teams.
    • High attention to detail with excellent multitasking skills.
    • Experience managing project documentation and database systems.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
    • Valid driver's license.
    • Ability to qualify for and maintain company driving privileges.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Utility industry experience.
    • SR/WA designation or another certification from the International Right of Way Association (IRWA).
    • Real Estate Broker or Real Estate Sales License.
