Description

Job Overview:
  • We are seeking a Senior RF Test System Engineer to join this highly autonomous, customer-facing role. You will serve as a technical leader responsible for designing, integrating, and deploying advanced RF test systems for aerospace and defense customers.
  • You will work directly with customers to understand complex test challenges, architect automated test solutions, and deliver complete systems that combine industry-leading hardware, software, and measurement technologies. Success in this role requires a strong foundation in RF measurements, automated test systems, systems integration, and customer collaboration.
  • The ideal candidate enjoys solving complex technical problems, working across hardware and software domains, and partnering with customers to transform requirements into innovative, mission-critical test solutions supporting Radar, Electronic Warfare (EW), Satellite Communications (SATCOM), and other advanced aerospace and defense applications.
  • We are looking for a Senior RF Test/System Engineer with 8 10+ years of experience developing and integrating automated RF test systems, ideally for Aerospace & Defense applications. The ideal candidate combines hands-on RF measurement experience (VNA/PNA, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes) with test automation using LabVIEW, TestStand, Python, MATLAB, or similar tools.
  • Candidates should have experience owning complete test solutions, not simply executing tests, and be comfortable working across hardware, software, instrumentation, and system-level troubleshooting. Strong customer-facing technical leadership and experience with radar, EW, SATCOM, ATE, or other defense systems are highly desirable.
Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the technical lead for the design, development, integration, and deployment of custom RF test systems and automated test solutions for aerospace and defense customers.
  • Architect and implement automated test solutions, including software development, device drivers, and test interfaces using industry-standard test and measurement platforms.
  • Design, integrate, and validate complete system-level solutions that combine RF instrumentation, signal routing, switching, software automation, and measurement technologies.
  • Partner directly with customers to understand requirements, translate technical challenges into practical solutions, and ensure successful project execution and customer satisfaction.
  • Lead and contribute to cross-functional projects involving engineering, program management, sales, customers, suppliers, and third-party partners.
  • Participate in customer design reviews, technical discussions, and milestone reviews to ensure solutions meet performance, schedule, and quality objectives.
  • Integrate hardware, software, and services into customer environments and ensure delivered solutions perform to specification.
  • Solve complex technical problems spanning RF measurements, test automation, hardware integration, software development, and system performance.
  • Provide technical expertise during pre-sales activities, helping customers evaluate approaches and identify the best test solutions for their applications.
  • Deliver customer training, technical consulting, and post-deployment support to maximize customer success and solution adoption.
  • Serve as a trusted technical advisor and primary customer interface throughout the project lifecycle, including occasional travel to customer sites.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Master's degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in Test Engineering, Systems Engineering, Automated Test Equipment (ATE), RF Test, or related technical fields involving the development, integration, deployment, and troubleshooting of complex test systems.
  • Experience with one or more test automation and engineering software platforms such as LabVIEW, TestStand, MATLAB, PathWave, ADS, or similar tools.
  • Hands-on experience with RF test and measurement equipment including Vector Network Analyzers (VNA/PNA), Spectrum Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, Signal Generators, and related instrumentation.
  • Product development/prototype experience
  • Strong understanding of RF and electrical engineering fundamentals, measurement techniques, and system-level troubleshooting.
  • Experience developing, integrating, validating, or supporting automated test systems, Automated Test Equipment (ATE), RF test environments, or complex engineering solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience leading technical projects, cross-functional teams, or customer-facing engineering efforts.
  • Broad systems engineering background with experience spanning hardware, software, electrical, and mechanical elements of complex systems.
  • Proven ability to work directly with customers, understand technical requirements, and translate customer needs into practical engineering solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving ability and the capability to work independently in a highly technical environment.
These additional skills are preferred:
  • Experience with RF test, RF measurements, microwave systems, radar systems, electronic warfare (EW), satellite communications (SATCOM), or related technologies.
  • Experience supporting Aerospace & Defense customers, programs, or products.
  • Experience developing custom test systems, automated test equipment (ATE), or integrated test solutions.
  • Experience with customer-facing technical leadership, systems integration, or technical consulting engagements.
  • Active U.S. Secret or Top-Secret security clearance.
