Senior Revenue Accountant

Provide monthly revenue reporting, including preparing revenue and deferred revenue roll-forward analysis, and reports for internal and external reporting related to the revenue transactions. Perform timely reconciliations to ensure data integrity of revenue, deferred revenue and assigned balance sheet accounts.

Overview:
Plans and performs analyses and reconciliation of small and large complex deals ensuring compliance with regulatory reporting and Gemalto revenue recognition policies. Works closely with various departments within the organization including, but not limited to, Sales, Sales Operations, Sr. Management, Operations, Legal, Finance, etc. as it relates to meeting revenue. Monitor changes in accounting guidance and regulations to ensure accurate reporting of revenue. Responsible for review and reconciliation of various Revenue Related Balance sheet accounts.
 
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure adherence to IFRS and CPL revenue policy.
Analyze and document sales transactions.
Research issues on revenue recognition issues as they arise.
Processing, recording, and reconciling revenue and deferred revenue.
Provide support for all aspects of revenue related month end close activity.
Perform timely reconciliations to ensure data integrity of revenue, deferred revenue and assigned balance sheet accounts.
Report to sales team and operations outstanding deferred revenue items.
Assist with the review and interpretation of revenue contracts and commercial transactions to determine proper accounting in accordance with CPL policies and IFRS.
Ensure revenue is properly allocated for multiple element arrangements.
Provide monthly revenue reporting, including preparing revenue and deferred revenue roll-forward analysis, and reports for internal and external reporting related to the revenue transactions.
Work with auditors to answer questions and provide support for CPL revenue recognition, and assigned balance sheet reconciliations, including policies and procedures.
Obtain an in-depth knowledge of Authoritative Accounting Literature such as IFRS 15 and pending Topic 606.
Assist in training efforts primarily to Sales as to the basic revenue recognition principles.

Qualifications:
4 to 6 years of experience working in Accounting or Finance.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
Temp needed for ERP implementation
Any degree plus 4-6 years’ experience in Accounting or Finance
One year ago, another company was absorbed and merged within their business account within company.
This is a long integration. As part of the integration, they implemented an automated revenue tool.
This person has to be ok with change. They are still working through the new system, learning curves and process changes due to the merger.
Looking for aptitude and willingness to learn.
The person retiring from this position started in insurance. Someone may not have revenue recognition specific experience, but other knowledge that they can share and apply is acceptable (make them give you examples of how their experience applies).

Their ERP system is Oracle
Experience with RevStream (an enterprise revenue lifecycle management and accounting software) is best. RevPro is another tool that has the same fundamentals.
Fast paced! Very laid back approach but they work hard & play hard.
