Position Summary

The Senior, Retail Asset Protection and Compliance plays a critical role in executing the companys asset protection and compliance strategy across a designated Division/function. Reporting to the Retail Asset Protection and Compliance Manager, this position is responsible for driving loss prevention initiatives, conducting internal investigations, and partnering with field leadership to mitigate financial risk and ensure operational compliance. The Senior, Asset Protection and Compliance leverages data analysis, training, and collaboration to safeguard company assets, minimize shrink/loss, and promote a culture of accountability and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

Execution of Asset Protection and Compliance Strategy:

  • Review asset protection and compliance programs within assigned Division/function, ensuring alignment with company standards and objectives

  • Conduct investigations related to theft, fraud, inventory variances, and operational failures, often triggered by exception reporting analysis, ensuring thorough documentation and timely resolution

  • Monitor and report on key loss prevention metrics, identifying trends and recommending corrective actions to reduce shrink and improve profitability

  • Support the rollout of new asset protection initiatives and tools, ensuring successful adoption

Risk Assessment & Compliance:

  • Review risk assessments and operational reviews to identify vulnerabilities in store processes and controls

  • Serve as the primary asset protection point-of-contact for Area and Region leadership teams, collaborating with them to address opportunities, recommend preventive measures, and track corrective actions

  • Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures through regular reviews, compliance checks, and follow-up conversations

  • Act as a compliance ambassador, reinforcing company standards and promoting operational excellence

Training & Field Support:

  • Deliver training sessions and one-on-one coaching to field teams on asset protection best practices, compliance requirements, and risk mitigation strategies

  • Provide guidance and support to field leadership on fraud detection, loss prevention, and operational risk management

  • Assist in developing training materials (SOPs, Policies, etc.) and job aids to improve awareness and execution of asset protection programs

Data Analysis & Reporting:

  • Execute regular reviews of exception-based reporting and analytic dashboards to proactively identify and research suspicious activity, policy non-compliance, and operational errors within assigned division/function

  • Prepare and submit clear, actionable reports to the Asset Protection and Compliance Manager on investigations and compliance reviews

  • Maintain accurate documentation of all investigations and training activities for compliance and reporting purposes

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Operations, HR and Payroll teams to identify and address root causes of loss and operational inefficiencies

  • Participate in special projects and initiatives aimed at improving compliance and reducing risk across the organization

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience (5 years) in retail operations, asset protection, loss prevention, or compliance

  • Demonstrated success in retail leadership or multi-unit support roles

  • Strong knowledge of retail SOPs and operational processes

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships across all levels

  • High integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint)

  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex data and trends using company reporting tools and Microsoft Excel to generate actionable loss prevention insights

  • Ability to travel as needed

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience with BSRO or other retail asset protection, technology platforms, and store systems

  • Prior experience conducting investigations and facilitating training sessions
