Senior Recreation/Community Services Supervisor

The Recreation & Community Services Department is searching for a recreation professional to join the team as a Senior Recreation/Community Services Supervisor. The Senior Recreation/Community Services Supervisor is a front-line supervisory level position that develops and oversees a variety of citywide recreation and community services programs, activities, and events. In addition, this position coordinates and promotes cooperative efforts with community agencies, assists with budget preparation and participates in grant writing and other funding opportunities.
There is currently one (1) full-time vacancy in the Recreation/Community Services Department - Aquatics Division. The resulting eligibility list may be used to fill future vacancies in this classification.

Community Life & Culture does this through a comprehensive array of programs, activities, services and events available through the Recreation & Community Services, Library and Museum Departments as well as the Arts & Culture program.
The City of Ontario's Recreation & Community Services Department provides opportunities for wholesome, year-round public recreational services for every age group. The Department operates six community centers, senior center, provides programming in over thirty parks, three dog parks, and a municipal golf course.

Qualification Guidelines
Education
Equivalent to an associate's degree in recreation, physical education, public administration, or a related field.
Experience
Five (5) years of experience in coordinating recreation and community services programs, including supervision of recreation staff.
Licenses
Certificates
Ability to obtain valid American Red Cross certifications in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), First Aid and Automated External Defibrillator within the first six (6) months of employment.
Special Requirements
Ability to work flexible and weekend hours as needed.
