Responsibilities:
Position Purpose: Will be expected to mentor and lead QA Analysts. As Seniot Staff QA you will be responsible for designing and implementing tests, debugging issues, performing root-cause analyses, defining corrective actions, and tracking quality assurance metrics. You will be responsible for our more junior test engineers to follow-up and coach them.
Primary Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
- Provide input to QA Manager on performance appraisals for all QA analysts.
- Act as a first point of contact for all QA activities. Become the Subject Matter Expert in the area assigned.
- Responsible for mentoring QA Analysts and ensuring best practices and procedures are being followed. Specific activities will include:
- Participates as a team member and/or leads a team executing the following tasks.
- Requirements analysis and decomposition
- Prioritization of test-related tasks
- Writing and executing of Test Cases
- Manual Test Execution
- Data Validation
- Defect Tracking; entry and reporting
- Test Status & Metrics Reporting
- Design and Document test plans for assign products
- Help define test environment (e.g., tools, simulators, etc…)
- Work with automation team to select test cases for automation and maintain a working Test Certification Test Suite
- Acts as advisor to QA Analysts to meet schedules and/or resolve technical problems
- Facilitate peer reviews for test plans, test cases, test execution and test metrics.
- Provide estimates and other inputs on the test effort to the Project Manager for test planning purposes
- Assist development in debugging and retesting reported defects as necessary
- During project testing periods on a daily basis provide and post project test metrics to the Project Manager as per the test methodology
- Work with the development team to perform root cause analysis of field reported defects
- Report defects in defect tracking system by providing detailed documentation as proof of test failures for repeatability.
- Recommends new SQA practices and policies to the team and management.
- Recognizes testing and product problems and recommends real world solutions.
- Compare testing metrics to exit criteria to provide SQA advice on product release.
Qualifications:
Primary Duties will include:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science and/or equivalent work experience required.
- 5 or more years in software quality assurance experience required.
