Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior QA Automation Engineer - API Testing, Python & AI to drive the quality assurance strategy for cloud-based enterprise applications in a fast-paced Agile environment. This role combines advanced test automation, API validation, cloud testing, and emerging AI technologies to ensure the delivery of reliable, scalable, and high-performing solutions. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in Python-based automation frameworks, API testing, cloud platforms, and modern AI-enabled development tools while collaborating closely with product, engineering, and operations teams.

About the Role

As a Senior QA Automation Engineer - API Testing, Python & AI, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and executing robust automation solutions that support complex enterprise applications hosted in cloud environments. You will leverage Python, PyTest, API testing tools, and AI-enabled technologies such as Amazon Bedrock and GitHub Copilot to enhance testing efficiency, improve software quality, and accelerate delivery cycles.

Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will help define test strategies, validate end-to-end integrations, and ensure applications perform reliably across AWS and Azure environments. This position also offers the opportunity to contribute to quality engineering best practices, guide offshore testing efforts, and support business solutions within the transportation, waste management, and sustainability domains.

In This Role, You Will

  • Design and implementation of scalable test automation frameworks using Python PyTest and Playwright to ensure robust coverage for complex cloud and enterprise applications and drive higher product reliability across releases.
  • Coordinate with product engineering and operations teams to define clear test strategies for features deployed on AWS or Azure environments ensuring E2E integration is working.
  • Ability to participate in agile ceremonies and plan for test phases as required
  • Should have hands-on experience on cloud testing + SQL and Handon experience with Python/any framework design with python.

Work Model

Based on this role's business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 4 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Houston, TX. Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrate strong expertise in Python based automation using PyTest with a track record of designing reusable libraries, modular frameworks and reliable test suites for complex applications.
  • Exhibit solid hands-on skills with AWS and Azure services relevant to application hosting data storage and security so that test strategies and executions reflect real world cloud behavior and constraints.
  • Regular Coordinate offshore and ensure daily deliverables are delivered and communicated as needed.

Salary and Other Compensation:

Applications will be accepted until October 4th , 2026.

The annual salary for this position is between $53,000 - $92,500 depending on the experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
